17 Rainy Day Activities for Kids

It's been raining for 2 days here in Southern California and for this Winter, that's a record! hah! I think it's only rained one other week this entire Winter, believe it or not.

It's funny -- About 6 months ago I bought Ava and I matching umbrellas. They're these super cute clear umbrellas and they've been sitting in the spare bedroom every since, with the tags still on them. So when we woke up to rain yesterday morning, I was ecstatic to finally get a photo of Ava and I using our matching umbrellas in our matching mommy and me rain boots and matching mommy and me jumpsuits.

Briana came over to take some photos for us and when we were done with everything we needed to shoot, we put on our rain gear to snap one shot of us with our umbrellas...all I wanted was one shot. Just one single shot. And guess what happened...

Ava refused to go outside. Boooo.

I was so bummed! 6 months of waiting and the day was finally here and she wouldn't touch her umbrella. So sad :( But in typical Briana fashion, she somehow managed to snap some of the most adorable shots of us and somehow got Ava to smile in the middle of her tantrum. So we got our shot in our matching mommy and me outfits... minus Ava's super adorable clear kids umbrella.

...because if there aren't any photos then it didn't happen ;)

We woke up to more rain on this Saturday morning and I'm thinking to myself, "What the heck are we going to do all day if we can't go outside?" And then I remembered that I recently published an article on "17 Indoor Rainy Day Activities for Kids" (including my favorite unicorn slime recipe that takes less than a minute to make) so I'm re-posting that here today, just in case any of you need it.
