9 Gift Ideas for New Moms
That baby registry is pretty much all about baby and not so much about mom. And while the baby essentials are necessary, being a new mom is hard. Whether it’s the first time or the fourth time, moms with newborns are going to be tired and overwhelmed and will definitely need some mom time and a whole lot of encouragement and credit.
So if you know a pregnant mama or a new mom, I’ve come up with a little list of 9 gift ideas for new moms, whether you’re spoiling her before she delivers or after. Those registry items are great, but sometimes mom needs a little spoiling too ;)
1. A Ju-Ju-Be Diaper Bag
I am Ju-Ju-Be obsessed and yeah, this is a gift that technically is sort of for baby (and may already been on her registry) but this an accessory that a mom will carry every day. It’ll replace her purse and will be an item that she may carry for years to come. So of course, she’ll want something she loves!
I’m all about the leather diaper bag backpack with a newborn and I’m totally obsessed with their new Ever Collection (leather styles) but they’re always coming out with new prints and designs and styles too! Click the link below to browse all of their trendy diaper bags!
2. A Coffee Date
Bring her coffee to enjoy at home in the backyard or invite her on a coffee date with or without the baby. I’ve found that the best thing I can do for myself is get out of the freaking house and relax, even if it’s only for half an hour or so! It makes a world of a difference and your invite and company will truly mean the world to her.
3. Hire A House Cleaner
Seriously, can someone do this one for me? A clean house clears my mind and puts me at ease but with a newborn (or any kid, for that matter), there’s just no time for that! So hire her a house cleaner and she will forever thank you!
I haven’t tried it out yet but saw that Amazon now offers cleaning services so I linked it below!
4. A Home Cooked Meal
I don’t know about you but I plan on eating a whole lot of frozen meals once baby boy is here. So start a meal chain, bring over a home cooked meal for lunch or dinner for the whole family and ask her if she wants some company too! A bit of friend-to-friend chatting is always a good thing!
5. A Wooden Ultrasound Print
So this is totally on my list of items I want because I think it’s just too precious. Whether she’s 20 weeks in or the baby is already out, this is a gift she will cherish forever!
6. Mom Shirts + Mom Hats
If you’ve kept up with my weekly (or sometimes every couple of weeks…oops) bumpdates, then you know that I love Little Mama Shirt Shop and I wear a different one of her pregnancy shirts every week for those updates. So snag your mama friend a pregnancy shirt, a mom shirt or even a cute mom hate to cover up that greasy hair. It’s fun and it’s cute and it’s just for her! 7. Chatbooks
Make her a little memory photo book of her pregnancy or with newborn photos or whatever she’s posted to social media that you can easily snag. Chatbooks are my absolute favorite and they’re pretty too!
8. Pre + Post Pregancy Dresses
I currently have a couple of Dwell and Slumber gowns on my registry because they’re just something I feel like is a must-have for every mom. And I’ve never owned one before but I’ve heard nothing but great reviews! They’re loose-fitting dresses, nursing friendly, bump-friendly but also look cute postpartum and I plan to wear them while in the hospital since I’ve hear they’re just so comfy (and as you can see, so cute, too!).
9. A Stroller
A stroller is something every mom is going to use…and for years. It’s probably one of the most useful accessories she’ll ever receive, for that matter. And yes, while the child does go in the stroller, it’s definitely a lifesaver for mom. The Summer® 3Dlite®+ Convenience Stroller is a premium everyday lightweight stroller. Based on the original best-selling 3Dlite® stroller, the 3Dlite+ takes parent convenience and child comfort to the next level with a premium look and feel. It’s only 14lbs but durable with an aluminum frame, has an oversized canopy with a flip out sun visor and peek-a-boo window, a multi-position adjustable recline seat with 5-point safety harness, extra-large storage basket, premium fabric & stitching and has a cup holder, cell phone holder, and zip-close storage pocket for mom.
