Just A Baby + Her Boxer

When I was pregnant with Ava, one thing we really worried about was Baxter. He wouldn't hurt a fly but if you have ever met him (or any Boxer, for that matter), you know how much energy they have. When someone comes over, he just cannot contain his excitement and he immediately turns into a puppy.

He loves sitting on laps, licking faces (and yes, his tongue will knock you over), and jumping for joy when a new "friend" comes over. Just saying the word "friend" gets his little nub of a tail wagging like crazy.

Baxter is the happiest dog in the world who loves everyone more than anything.

And that right there was why we were a little nervous to bring Ava home from the hospital.

He can't sit on a baby's lap, lick her like crazy and play with here so what would he do? We had seen him interact with many toddlers and he was always incredibly gentle, no matter how many times his floppy lips were pulled or how many times his big face was nuzzled by a little one. But before Ava, he had never seen a baby.

Long story short, he is the most amazing big brother we could have asked for for Ava. He can go from 160% as a friend walks in to our house to zero in a matter of an instant if Ava is next to him. And then, of course, right back up to 200% puppy the second he steps out of her bubble.

It's amazing, really.

Needless to say, we are incredibly relieved and grateful for their beautiful relationship. So of course, I am even more of a mamarazzi when they are snuggling because who doesn't just melt over baby and puppy photos?

I sure do!

Here is your dose of baby and puppy cuteness for the day - You're welcome!
