AVA'S NURSERY | BABY GIRL NURSERY DECOR + IDEAS

It's finally here -- Ava's finished nursery! I am so excited to share the final product and now, the waiting game begins until she actually gets to use it!

My husband and I find ourselves going into her room every single day, just looking, watching, rocking, and staring. And we can't help but smile :) I cannot believe that in less than a month, we are going to have a beautiful baby girl occupying that space...well, attempting to get her to occupy that space, although my guess is that she will be in our room (and in our arms) more than her own. But this room just fills us with so much joy as we wait for our bundle of joy to arrive.

So I am so excited to share it with all of you and hope it brings some inspiration for your own baby's nursery, some great shops and décor ideas, and a smile to your face too!

Enjoy!

The second we found out we were having a girl - and probably even before that - we were both against a pink-themed nursery. She's going to have a million pink outfits and it was a bit too cliche for us, so we decided on a very light seafoam wall color, all white furniture, with accents of greys and golds sprinkled in there too!

Seafoam Green Blanket (below): Before my mom passed away, she decided to make blankets for all of her grandchildren and I am so excited that Ava will have that as a gift from her amazing grandma who she will never have a chance to meet. This is such a special piece of the nursery to me an it couldn't have fit more perfectly with the decor of the nursery.

Striped blanket: This is a blanket my grandma and Ava's great-grandma had hand made and gifted to Ava at our baby shower.

Teddy Bear: A couple of months back, Frank (my husband) came home with lots of baby stuff from Buy Buy Baby. I think he had a sudden urge of excitement and he just wanted to spoil his little girl that day. And this teddy bear was one of those items. It is the first teddy bear she will ever receive from first man she will ever love :)

The books on the top shelf were all of my favorite collections from childhood and the books on the bottom shelf were all given to Ava by her loving family and friends! I see a lot of bed time stories in our near future :)

Since we wanted some greys sprinkled in there among all of the white furniture, we decided on the oh-so-comfortable graphite grey Bebe Confort Barcelona Swivel Glider from Buy Buy Baby.

Nursing Pillow: I actually found a lot of websites that give you baby stuff for free, and this nursing pillow was one of them from Nursing Pillow. I ordered it before we ever knew we were having a girl so it just happened to work out perfectly with the nursery!

White Side Table: I ordered the side table last minute from Target, after Frank was sitting in the rocking chair with a cup of coffee and realized that he had nowhere to put it down. It is called the Convenience Concepts American Heritage Round Table.

Name Letter Blocks: These are from one of my favorite decor shops on Etsy called Cora and Plum. I worked with them in the past, featuring wedding products on The Overwhelmed Bride and when I saw that they came out with these, I ordered them immediately! How adorable are they??

"God bless this child...": This was made by Ava's grandma Linda years back when Frank was born! It hung in Frank's nursery when he was a baby and we were so excited to have this special memory added to Ava's room too.

One of the tips I got the most when researching nursery furniture and decor was how unnecessary it was to purchase a separate changing table. I've babysat A LOT over the years and I can't remember a single time when I changed a diaper on a changing table. And that is what all of the mom's I know have continued to tell me! For the cases where we don't want to head to the floor, we did purchase a portable changing pad which we can either put on the floor, on a table, or right there on the dresser. I'll let you know if this advice works out well for us! And if not, we may have some more furniture to purchase very soon!

We spent a lot of time finding a Bible verse that we felt was perfect for Ava and perfect for her room as one of the main pieces of decor. This will be the first Bible quote she will remember and it will be engrained in her through childhood and through life. So this beautiful piece made by The Golden Ark on Etsy was one that is really special to us and we hope that Ava will see it that way too!

This globe is also a handmade order from a company I work with all of the time in the wedding world. While most people use these globes as wedding guest book alternatives in that case, I wanted one made for Ava's room which reads "Welcome to the World Ava Sue Hallak." On the back, I had a quote added that comes from one of my favorite childhood books that my mom used to read to me all of the time. So another little memory of her was added: "I'll love you forever. I'll like you for always. As long as I'm living my baby you'll be."

This globe was handmade by The Walt House on Etsy!
