Easy Halloween Snacks For Kids

Last Halloween I was super excited to dress up with Ava. We were going to a friend's house to go trick or treating with all of the kids and I was sooo excited for Ava to reach in and grab candy with a huge smile on her face.

Spoiler Alert: She could have cared less. We grabbed a couple of pieces for her -- no smile, no reaction. But come one Jenn, were you really surprised? I know, silly me.

Okay but this year, I'm way more excited. I've narrowed it down to 7 costume options (yes, seven) and Halloween night is going to go one of two ways: She's going to be ecstatic to grab the candy and put it in her bucket OR she's going to be way too excited to eat the candy that she's going to refuse to grab more. I'm putting my bets on the latter but either way, it's going to be a good time.

So to get the festivities started and for any of you who have Halloween parties for kids going on, I've come up with two super cute and easy Halloween themed snacks for kids! They take like 30 seconds (max) per snack so the kids can join in too!

Spider Cookies

Ingredients:

- Fudge Striped Shortbread Cookies
- brown frosting
- pretzels
- candy eyeballs

Steps:

Step 1: Paint frosting on the back of each cookie

Step 2: Break up pretzels into small pieces (for the legs of the spider)

Step 3: Place 8 spider legs on the back side, stuck on by frosting

Step 4: Place frosting on the back side of each eyeball and place them on the top of the cookie

Step 5: Eat, eat, eat!

Pumpkin Krispie Treats

Ingredients:

- Rice Krispie Treats (individual packs)
- orange frosting
- clear sprinkles
- pretzels

Steps:

Step 1: Cut individual Krispie treats in half for smaller pumpkins or leave them large for large pumpkins

Step 2: Cut off the corners to round out the Rice Krispie treat into the shape of a pumpkin

Step 3: Frost each pumpkin with orange frosting and sprinkle on sprinkles

Step 4: Break up pretzels and place on the top to form the stem

Step 5: Enjoy!
