MOM HACK | Feeding Your Baby Solids
I know there have been a whole lot of changes around here and I am excited to see where this blog grows. And while we have gone from a personal blog through my pregnancy to a more wide spread lifestyle blog featuring photos other than just Ava, one goal of mine has remained constant:
I want this to be a community.
I want to be able to learn tips and tricks from all of you because I am the overwhelmed mommy and many of you are second or third or fourth timers. So while every baby and every kid is different, I want this to be a community of parents who are all encouraging each other and helping each other through challenges.
And when I began introducing solids to Ava last month, I was so excited to see that goal of mine come to life!
My question was, "How much do I feed my baby solids every day" and after asking all of you and consulting with my pediatrician, I learned that there isn't one answer to this.
However, the conversation took a turn and I learned the best mom hack for feeding babies solids so I wanted to blog it for those of you who didn't see it. And of course, a huge thank you to the moms who taught me this because it's brilliant!
So here's a mom hack on measuring how much solid food your child is consuming (if they're eating purees).
Step 1: Get all of the food together you want to feed your baby.
Step 2: Mash it all up.
Step 3: Divvy it up into ice cube trays because each cube is about an ounce.
Step 4: Label each bag with the food type, a date, and throw all of the cubes into one bag in the freezer.
Step 5: When it's time for your baby to eat, put a cube into the microwave and heat for 15-20 seconds!
And voila! That's all there is to it! Prepping is done in advance and it takes less than 30 seconds to prepare Ava's meal. Pretty neat, huh?
