A Money-Saving Mom Hack [and we'll pay you to try it out!]

Sponsored with love by Popcart

Let’s start with a little math problem: Which is the better price?

A. The 6-pack of toilet paper rolls for $7.99 that are “double rolls” so actually equal the equivalent of 10 rolls (apparently double doesn’t literally mean double)

OR

B. the 8-pack of toilet paper rolls at $10.99 that are normal size but are thicker so you have to use less per trip to the bathroom.

Can you do the math?

Or the better question — Do you have time to actually sit down and think this all through?

Because I don’t.

I buy pretty much everything online. And as a mom, I don’t have the time to compare prices at multiple retailers to see if I’m getting the best deal. Heck, I barely have time to take a single sip of coffee in the morning so there’s no way I’m ever going to sit there and open up multiple tabs on my computer to compare products at various retailers — Amazon, Walmart, Target — see if there are any sales going on and do all of the math to figure out if I’m getting the best price on diapers, wipes, cleaning products, dog food, mascara, toilet paper or all of the other household items that I order all the time. But don’t you worry…

There’s a Chrome extension for that ;)

Popcart

I talked about the Popcart app when Ava was still in diapers — a genius app that helped compare the prices of diapers and wipes and so many other household items we all buy. But now they’ve got a Chrome extension for those of us who shop on the computer, rather than on our phones. And let me tell you, this is going to save me time and money (and YOU too!)

Yep, money.

[ Pssst if you click that link and download the Chrome extension we’ll add $5 in Amazon credit to your account! ]

Here’s how it works:

  1. Install Popcart for Google Chrome on your desktop computer

  2. Search the item you want to purchase

  3. Popcart will automatically pop up with alternative options if there are any available — it’s comparing number of toilet paper sheets, cost per diaper, etc so you get a true cost comparison

  4. Scroll through the prices for the same item at alternative retailers — Walmart, Amazon, Target and Sephora

  5. Save yourself time and money!

It may seem like such a minuscule amount to save 50 cents here and there but let’s do some math.

Let’s say you order 5 household items a week and Popcart saves you just 50 cents per item (and as we all know, price differences at different retailers are often far more than this!):

5 items x 50 cents = $2.50
$2.50 x 52 weeks = $130

$130 could mean dance classes for your daughter or a trip to Disneyland for your son. $130 could go straight into saving for your next family vacation, it could be a couple date nights for you and the hubby or fancy night out for the entire family. 50 cents may seem minuscule at the moment but here’s the thing…

It all adds up.

Check it out for yourself and see how easy it is to save on those every day purchases you’re going to spend on anyways. [Ahem…diapers!]

Click here to download the Popcart Chrome extension and for all of you who download it through this link, you’ll receive a $5 Amazon credit! Yep, I’m giving you money so you can save more money. Sounds like a win-win to me!

**$5 promotion expires 1/2/20. Valid only for new users who keep Popcart installed for at least (7) days.
