Fall Styled Console Table
I’ve chatted quite a bit about this on stories but there are a couple things you need to know about me when it comes to seasonal or holiday decor:
I don’t like the gore that comes along with Halloween. Give me all the pumpkins and leave it at that!
When I have holiday decorations set up for over a few weeks, I start getting sick of them and want to take them down before the holiday even gets there - Christmas, Halloween… all of it.
But here’s the thing - I LOVE decorating for the holidays and my kids love it too. So that’s something I will never stop doing. But I have to be strategic with it so that I continue to love it through the holiday and so it doesn’t make me feel like there’s clutter all around my house.
Every year I don’t learn my lesson and I go all out. And it’s beautiful and it’s fun and then I hate it. Well this year, something incredible happened…
I learned my lesson!
Are you proud of me? You should be because this is quite the accomplishment. And here’s what I did (for all of you who feel the same way). I kept it:
neutral
minimal
not too holiday-focused
So here’s my Fall/Halloween styled console table - a couple of pumpkins for Halloween which also lead us into Thanksgiving and the rest of Fall, a few vintage books for that moody Halloween feel, that framed moody butterfly (or is it a moth?), I changed the candles from white to brown and changed the greenery from green to a deep purple. Oh and you can’t forget that cheese cloth to add a little spook, the kids’ favorite part.
And spoiler alert: I LOVE IT. I really love how it turned out and once Halloween has passed I can take down the cheese cloth and leave the rest for the remainder of Fall until it’s time to decorate for Christmas. And this year I’ll keep the Christmas decor to a minimum too. Because I finally learned my lesson. (cue the applause)
