The truth behind HelloFresh that no one talks about.

I’m sure the majority of you have all heard about HelloFresh by now and if you haven’t, you can click here to read all about.
Everyone raves about the convenience factor, as it arrives on my doorstep every single week without me having to do anything, it’s quick to cook (usually around 30 minutes total to prep and cook), it’s healthy, it’s fresh, it’s easy and it’s delicious. Now that’s all a big bundle (or box, I should say) of mama joy.
Am I right or am I right?
But there’s one thing about HelloFresh that I’ve never heard anyone mention before, something that I’m sure so many moms are feeling as they prep these meals each day but no one ever talks about...
Let me take a step back in time real quick.
Even before Ava was born, I worked from home so I’ve always been the one who typically prepares dinner for our family. And one way I’ve always loved serving my husband is by having dinner ready when he got home from work. Or at least, be in the middle of cooking as he arrives home. It’s just one of those things that has always made me so happy to do for him and of course, has made him pretty happy too after coming home hungry after a long day in the office, too.
But you see, things change when you have kids (duh!) and that was one thing that took a turn for the worse the day Ava was born. I did a pretty great job at keeping the house clean with a newborn and I kept the companies I own going strong but dinner every night? Not so much. My husband never said a word and he would come home and cook dinner for us with no issue at all but deep down inside, I kind of felt like a failure. Okay I know I wasn’t a failure, I had a newborn baby to take care of and companies to run but that one thing I loved doing for him was gone.
And I couldn’t stand that I was no longer able to serve him in that way.
I know it may sound so silly but making dinner for my family is huge for me. It’s something I love doing and it’s something I will always cherish. Long story short, I discovered HelloFresh about six months ago and I feel like a whole new person -- I’m back to the wife I used to be and that small part of me that I longed for again is back.
So to me, HelloFresh is far more than a quick, easy, convenient and delicious meal delivery service. It’s something that brought life back into me when I felt like I wasn’t serving my family as well as I used to, it allows us to cook as a family and eat as a family and most recently, it has allowed me to make so many fun memories in the kitchen with my Ava Sue. HelloFresh has changed the way I mom and it has changed it for the better.
