I know it’s still September but Halloween costumes sell out. They really do! So if your child has his or her hear set on a specific costume, snag it now before you’re scrambling to DIY it yourself the night before Halloween… I did that once but it was because a certain newborn baby decided to come a few weeks early and there’s no way he wasn’t going to dress in our family Halloween costumes for his first Halloween that year. And so, DIY Halloween costume it was! And it turned out pretty darn cute, if you ask me! Click here if you want to see it!

We’ve always dressed in family themed Halloween costumes up until last year, that is. Ava is 8 years old now and decided she wanted to do her own thing. It was sad for me, oh so sad, but we went all out on her costume and she was happy as can be! And that’s what matters the most. Luckily, I still got to match with my 3 boys - we were ninja turtles!

Are you team family Halloween costumes? Or individual Halloween costumes? I’m still trying to come up with something that everyone wants to be together this year (Ava included) but we shall see!
