Best Mom Hack Ever

Best Mom Hack Ever

Before I came a mom, there are so many things I didn't know -- I didn't know how to calm a toddler down from a tantrum (and honestly, still don't), I didn't know how to sleep train or how to install a car seat correctly or even buckle a child in a car seat correctly, for that matter. There are so many things I didn't know and so many things I took for granted. Like sleep. Like going to bed when I wanted to and waking up when I wanted to. There was that and it exists no longer.

But there's one thing I took for granted the most before becoming a mom and I'm sure you're going to agree with me:

Errands.

Remember how easy it was to run to the grocery store before you had kids?
Or how quick that "quick errand" was before you became a mom?

My "quick errands" aren't so quick anymore. They're at least 4x as long. At least.

This is how it typically goes...

I've got to get Ava dressed and then she screams until she gets to wear the gold shoes that I cannot find anywhere. Because the pink shoes aren't good enough for her today. And then after 34 minutes of searching for that lost gold shoe, I finally find it, get them on her and she wants to wear her pink shoes. The ones with the laces that take forever to get on. And then we've lost "dada troll" and of course we can't leave the house without him. We search high and low, in all 34 of her baby purses and voila, we find "dada troll." Phew, we're finally out of the house and we make it to the car and because Ava hates car rides, I have to wrestle her down to get that seat belt buckled. We make it to the store, we have to find "dada troll" lost somewhere in the car and then finally make it inside the store. She won't ride in the shopping cart because she's a big girl and big girls walk. Oh yeah, and did I mention that big girls walk really slowly and admire everything in their path? And then they touch everything they see and take everything they want off the shelves, leaving mom to clean up the mess. And then we finally get the one item we needed and make it to the checkout line. She takes all of the candy off the shelf and this mom has to put it all back. We make it back to the car, I wrestle her into her car seat and get her buckled and we finally make it home.

All of that for one gallon of milk.

So yeah, those quick errands typically don't happen anymore (when possible) and Amazon Prime has become my new best friend. Anything you can do from the comfort of your home is a win in any mom's eyes. Am I right or am I right?

I'm gonna tell you about a really cool mom hack, right now, and you're going to thank me for the rest of your life.

Have you ever heard of Heal?

I hadn't until a couple of weeks ago and basically, I'm kind of hoping Ava gets sick soon so I can try it out. Okay not really, but I am pretty excited about my little discovery.

Yes, you heard that right. You can get a doctor to come to your home and you never have to leave your couch...Well, you've got to answer the door but I think you can manage that. It's like the Amazon Prime for doctors but you don't have to wait two days.
